Putco Element In-Channel Air Deflectors Installation - 2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2005 Chevy Silverado, we'll be installing the Putco air deflectors for both the front and rear doors, part number P580011. To begin our install, we'll first want to clean or prepare the surface where we'll be adhering the Putco air deflectors. This will be inside the window track on the outside edge. To clean it, we're just going to use some rubbing alcoholand a cloth. Keep in mind the older the vehicle is, the more dirt and debris it's going to pick up, so we'llwant to make sure that it's thoroughly cleaned so that our air deflectors will adhere to the vehicle. Now that we've got the tracks cleaned out, let's go ahead and start installing them. Starting on the driver's front, we'll go ahead and remove the backing to the two way adhesive. Onceremoved, we'll take the front edge and feed it into the window track, going up the door frame, then as we get near the front corner, we'll pull the back edge into the window track, and feed them both up to the top of the window track at the same time. Then we'll pull them out to help the adhesiveadhere to the window track. Now once it's fully in position, we'll go ahead and operate the window multiple times, and then leave it up to make sure that the two way tape has a good opportunity to adhere to the window tracking. Now with our driver's front done, we'll go ahead and do the driver's rear. more
